RATIONALE BEHIND THE PROJECT

In brief:

  • Italy lacked an exhibition dedicated to integrated logistics. The crisis at the end of the last decade led to the progressive loss of almost all the exhibitions existing in Italy at the time, although specialising in individual links in the logistics chain;
  • E-commerce has gained ever greater ground, “changing the physiognomy of logistics services”;
  • the ever more rigorous environmental sustainability objectives indicated by various levels of national and international governance;
  • an ever more sophisticated demand for mobility, transport and other services from urban areas with a constantly growing population;
  • a progressive, explicit and informed demand for logistics from the manufacturing sector;
  • growing investments in the European and Eurasian networks which, together with the development of automation and artificial intelligence, are ever more modifying a number of the actual “paradigms” of logistics;
  • the urgent need for an occasion for a face-to-face exchange of views involving operators, decision-makers, planners and research institutes, today a clearly felt but still unexpressed necessity to which Green Logistics Expo provides a concrete response;
  • in light of the complexity of the demand and the need and desire to rise above an event specialising in specific segments of the supply chain, in favour of an integrated systemic vision sensitive to certain “signs of the times” and able to look beyond the traditional frontiers towards the manufacturing sector and complexity of services for the city.
